Retail Analysis & Planning is just that. Analysis of a retailer’s own information and
analysis of how that store can successfully compete in the retailer’s marketplace.
Planning is simply the quantifying of how best to achieved that goal and be properly
profitable.
R A P is a unique blend of real world retail experience and modern technology.
Understanding the nuances of owning and running a retail store and how technology can
be used to achieve a retailer’s vision is how we see our mission.
The R A P system is based on our unique computer model that we adapt and maintain for
each of our clients. This model holds all the retailer’s relevant data and has access to
literally hundreds of other retailer’s data. The principal product of this planning model is
the forward looking open-to-buy, but there are many other by-products.
How are the sales trending?… What are the strong and weak categories?… How fast is
each category’s inventory turning?… What are the original and maintained margins in
each category?… If there are multiple stores, is the inventory properly balanced?… Is the
retailer receiving the goods they are buying?… Is the timing of deliveries appropriate to
the seasonal cycles of the store or stores?…
